I think that Mr. Williams' book is an excellent companion to his web site, databaseanswers.org, which generously provides the data models he discusses in his text. I found Data Modeling by Example Volume 2 to be very helpful to me as an intermediate Data Modeler but one who still struggles with the more conceptual principles of the art. What helped me the most was Mr. Williams' plethora of examples, especially the one about Cesar Milan and the Dog Whisperer, which I could immediately understand as it was something I had seen and already understood intrinsically, so to have it broken down into a data model was really neat and gave me an A-Ha! moment. My biggest trouble is when the models are created using generic terms such as 'people', 'events' and so on--the best help I've found is by studying models that were extremely specific and familiar to me in nature already.I sense that Mr. Williams is really passionate about his work and about helping people, which is very nice to see. He also has a cool sense of humor--re: his Clown Types data model made me LOL. It was a pleasure to read his eBook, visit his web site for so many free resources and to continue to refer to his literature as I feel more comfortable with this fascinating practice, skill, and art.

Data Modeling by Example Volume Two eBook Barry Williams Reviews
I found this book very easy to follow because of the nature it was written with a step by step approach through real world problems. I do database consulting and training so to see multiple examples for different industries was a great help to me. I would recommend this book to any of my students that are studying how to create data models.
What I like about this book and the other two books in this three book series is the extensive use of real world models simplified to help newbies understand the concepts but with sufficient detail to be useful and expandable as you gain more knowledge etc
I recommend this book to anyone wanting to not only learn the basic essentials but also see actual models put in practice.
Only minor point is the order of things in the beginning can be confusing UNLESS you have read the first book and hence can gloss over some familiar things.
